1. About SCRAPPY

SCRAPPY is a marketplace platform operated by 9Melons Limited that connects sellers of scrap materials with buyers (waste collectors, traders, and recycling yards) and connects customers who need skip hire with approved local skip companies across the United Kingdom.

By creating an account or using our services, you agree to these terms.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old
  • You must provide a valid UK phone number for verification
  • Business users (collectors, traders, skip companies) must provide accurate company details
  • Skip companies require admin approval before they can operate on the platform

3. User Accounts

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
  • One account per phone number
  • You must not share your account credentials
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms

4. Scrap Marketplace

  • Sellers list scrap materials with descriptions, photos, and location
  • Buyers place bids on listings
  • Sellers choose which bid to accept
  • SCRAPPY facilitates the connection but is not a party to the transaction
  • Collection arrangements are made directly between buyer and seller
  • SCRAPPY does not guarantee the quality, quantity, or condition of listed materials

5. Skip Hire

  • Customers submit skip booking requests with their requirements
  • Approved skip companies quote on bookings in their service area
  • Customers choose which quote to accept
  • The skip hire contract is between the customer and the skip company directly
  • SCRAPPY does not provide skip hire services and is not liable for service quality

6. Prohibited Conduct

  • Listing hazardous, illegal, or restricted waste materials
  • Providing false or misleading information in listings or profiles
  • Harassment, abuse, or threatening behaviour toward other users
  • Creating fake accounts or manipulating the bidding system
  • Attempting to circumvent platform security or rate limits
  • Using the platform for any unlawful purpose

7. Ratings and Reviews

  • Users can rate each other after completed transactions
  • Ratings must be honest and based on actual experience
  • We reserve the right to remove fraudulent or abusive ratings

8. Fees

SCRAPPY is currently free to use for all user types. We reserve the right to introduce fees in the future with reasonable notice.

9. Limitation of Liability

SCRAPPY is a marketplace platform that connects users. We are not responsible for:

  • The quality, safety, or legality of listed materials or skip services
  • The ability of users to complete transactions
  • Any disputes between buyers and sellers or customers and skip companies
  • Any loss or damage arising from use of the platform

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the fees paid by you to SCRAPPY (currently zero).

10. Intellectual Property

The SCRAPPY name, logo, and platform design are the property of 9Melons Limited. User-generated content (listings, photos, reviews) remains the property of the user who created it, but you grant us a licence to display it on the platform.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms. Upon termination, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
